There are two different carafes that look the same, so make sure you get the right one. I went on the Cuisinart website to make sure I was getting the correct one. When I purchased this item it said it would take two weeks to ship out, but it actually came within two weeks.
The carafe collects the freshly brewed coffee just as the instructions says it will. I took previous reviewers advice and ordered generic replacement carafe from Total Vac. The way I go through carafes, I needed a less expensive alternative. Thanks for the info on Total vac

Being somewhat naturally clumsy, I tend to break carafes for coffee makers. While I wish that this replacement was less expensive, it is exactly what I needed after inadvertently breaking the previous one by smacking it into the sink while cleaning it. The only reason that it gets a 4 star rating is that in my opinion, this shouldn't cost $25, but about half that.
